The alternative R&B and underground hip-hop duo met while attending the University of Toronto. In early 2013, they dropped their debut Good People EP, After Hours, as a free download, then later in the year the Drake track "Hold on, We're Going Home" appeared as a "featuring Majid Jordan" release. The track climbed into Billboard's Top Ten in the summer of that year, right as it was announced that the duo signed with Drake's label, OVO Sound.

In July of 2014, Majid Jordan released their latest effort A Place Like This. The five-track EP is filled with a generous mix of deep house and R&B of the 80's and 90's and includes standout tracks "Her," "Forever," and the title track "A Place Like This."
