MADELEINE CLARE - SINGLE LAUNCH with special guest Kelly Day

Join Melbourne-born singer-songwriter Madeleine Clare as she celebrates the long-awaited release of her first single SABOTAGE from her upcoming debut solo album The Eleventh Hour. A dark, moody 90s-inspired banger about hurt, revenge and self-loathing, SABOTAGE showcases Madeleine Clare’s powerhouse vocals and twisted, evocative storytelling.

This show with full band will preview songs for The Eleventh Hour – an album for late night introspection that draws from a wide palette of influences including alt country, folk, indie pop, psychedelia, and cabaret. The voice of an angel but with plenty of the devil in her, you’re bound to get swept away in Madeleine Clare’s emotive vocal presence.

Madeleine will be joined by a killer line-up of musicians including co-producer and engineer Jethro Pickett (guitar); Adrian Whitehead (piano); Rick Plant (bass) and Ben Wiesner (drums). Indie-noir darling Kelly Day (Broads) will join for support, performing a special solo acoustic set.

Madeleine Clare BIO

Madeleine’s early career included stints with Melbourne-hip hop/jazz outfit Disasterware and funk/soul outfits Superfly and Earthworm. She learned from jazz stalwarts Christine Sullivan, Michelle Nicole and Bob Sedegreen, studied improvisation at Victorian College of the Arts and has performed the national anthem to then Prime Minister Paul Keating to a packed Hamer Hall. She’s studied the cello, guitar, saxophone and oboe, but singing is her main tool for musical expression - a gift bestowed on her from a long line of singers on both sides of her English/Irish lineage. ‘The Eleventh Hour’, recorded with Tasmanian producer Jethro Pickett is her first solo album, set for release in 2022.
