Luke Sinclair & The Set (Raised By Eagles), Fenn Wilson, Madeline Leman & the Desert Swells, Sime Nugent and Folk Bitch Trio are playing a Sunday together at the Brunswick Ballroom on Sunday 25th April.

Luke Sinclair is an artist of integrity and a generosity of spirit.  Through his work with alt-country trailblazers The Idle Hoes, and more recently with his award-winning Americana outfit, Raised by Eagles, Sinclair continues to forge a well-respected and lasting name for himself across Australia’s musical landscape. His debut solo album, HEAVY DREAMS released in Feb 2021 is creating quite a buzz that continues to resonate through the Australian Americana scene.  Following on from the success of two singles, Boots To The Grave and Country-Soul classic Running On The Wheel, Heavy Dreams sees Sinclair pick apart the human condition in a tightly bound collection of songs that roll cathartically through a landscape of loss, despair, self-reflection, resignation and ultimately release.

Fenn Wilson and his band will be playing on the night following the recent sold out launch of their new single "Love Again" at the Northcote Social Club. Fenn has spent his time since live music died honing a swag of new songs. "Love Again" reflects Fenns knack for tapping into raw emotions whilst drawing from his own rich life experience and is the first single off the ranks for what promises to be a prolific year for this award winning musician. Since the lockdown lifted Fenn has been playing a stack of great regional gigs but is looking forward to playing live in Melbourne again. Fenn's time in his bedroom penning new tracks hasnt been wasted and he now has a swag of new songs for his planned album release in 2021.

Madeline Leman and the Desert Swells are 'Femmericana' band.
They create an Americana retro surf sound that is both silky smooth and a little bit country kitsch. Influenced by the rock n’ roll, blues, surf and soul traditions Madeline and her band create a fresh sound that transcends the country genre. Influenced by Patsy Cline, Hank Williams and Eilen Jewell, Madeline captivates audiences with stories of strong female protagonists, cowboys and truck drivers who ramble their way through the mundane and the profound. With Fabian Hunter on electric honky tonk guitar, Alexander Bleakly on double bass and Leah Senior providing the rich Gram and Emmy Lou style harmony, Madeline Leman and the Desert Swells are a new Americana outfit that is both sinful and soulful, heartbreaking and leg shaking.

Sime Nugent is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician. He is also a visual artist and furniture maker. Sime has toured nationally and internationally throughout Australia, Europe and America and released more than a dozen albums with a range of bands in his 20 year career. Sime’s work under his own name; with indie folk duo Sweet Jean and three time ARIA nominated band The Wilson Pickers has received both critical and popular acclaim. Sime travels with an extensive repertoire as a soloist, writer, band leader and band member.

Bringing you original tunes and harmonic arrangements, Melbourne based Folk Bitch Trio is Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle.

This promises to be a day of high class musical splendour. Don’t miss out!
