Lucky Oceans featuring Troy Roberts
Jazz Masters Meet the Blues
Thanks to a worldwide epidemic, two of Australia's greatest US-based jazz musicians have temporarily returned to the relative safety or their hometown, Perth. New York City-based Saxophonist Troy Roberts has recorded 12 albums in his own name, has been nominated for two Grammy Awards and has played with Herbie Hancock, Kurt Elling, Van Morrison and Wayne Shorter. Guitarist Tim Jago, who has been based in Florida since 2010, is a member of Troy's Nu-Jive ensembles and is a well-travelled and sought-after guitarist worldwide.
They'll be joined by Tim's bandmate in 'The Grid,' drummer Ben Vanderwal and double bassist Karl Florisson for the first of Lucky's 'Jazz Meets the Blues' shows, in which the Blues side of Jazz is brought to the fore by performing the blues-based compositions of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Horace Silver and more.
Don't miss this opportunity to see Troy Roberts in a rare performance in Perth.
