“Lara Andallo is already one of the most promising R&B artists in Australia"

- The Guardian

"…crisp vocals that take centre-stage, soaring high with an intoxicating and utterly convincing look." - Life Without Andy

“the Sydney artist has emerged as a frontrunner in local RnB.” Best Before

Leading the swelling R&B renaissance in Australia, Lara Andallo has today cemented her frontrunner status with the release of her confidently charged debut EP “DIAMONDS & DEJAVU”. The 6-track collection features the emotively penned new single “Year 3000”, which the Filipino-Australian musician, dancer and singer/songwriter has also revealed a beautiful music video for.

“Year 3000” is a touching LGBTQI+ anthem that captures Lara’s honest thoughts surrounding equality. “Wish we’d find love in the year 3000. When I can say I love you the way all the boys can, without judgement" she poignantly sings. The anthem comes in-time for the start of Sydney World Pride, which heralds the same inclusive energy.

People always say “I want that old school love, 90s love...” But for myself as a bisexual woman, I want to love someone in a time where my love is seen as equal & just as valid, not questioned & actually has a chance to thrive without all the external judgment, opinions & fears.says Lara of the track.

“DIAMONDS & DEJAVU” features “Year 3000” as well as fellow recent singles “Head To Toe”, “Diamond In The Rough” and “What U Want”. She has also included two brand new tracks, Candy Crushin/DEJAVU” and “Meantime”, which gives listeners a full understanding of the magnetic RNB she is creating.

“Diamonds are made under pressure. All these songs were about moments where I felt like I was at a crossroads & under my own emotional pressure, yet had already faced in the past (like Deja Vu). Reliving & reflecting on these feelings from a more honest place while writing, lead me to being able to find power in my openness & embracing all my sides. There's so much strength & beauty in that, and that’s what diamonds represent to me.” explains Lara.

To celebrate the release of the EP, Lara will be heading out on the road for a three-date East Coast tour. Kicking off in Sydney on Wednesday 31 May at Mary’s Underground, she will then head to Melbourne on 1 June at Laundry Bar before wrapping up in Brisbane on 8 June at Black Bear Lodge. Tickets are on sale 10am AEDT, Friday 24 February.

Lara's musical journey began after a devastating ankle injury sidelined her from dancing. It was then that Lara began prioritising song writing, where R&B became a crux of her rehabilitation. Her debut mixtape For Her saw Lara work alongside fellow homegrown talents like JOY. and Kota Banks. The project was quickly followed by the release of single “When The Lights Go Out”, which has earned over 1 million streams to date. She also connected with Yolngu rapper Baker Boy on his 2021 single “Headphones”, which took out the #1 spot on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist upon release. Lara then joined Baker Boy's national tour, plus appearances on Nova’s Red Room, ABC’s The Sound and WOMAdelaide.

In the lead-up to the release of “DIAMONDS & DEJAVU”, 2022 saw Lara joining UK producer Joel Corry and American rapper Blxst on their respective Australian tours. She also was recently hand selected by Troye Sivan and Lucas Keller to be a part of SongHubs The Tower which saw her collaborating with fellow LGBTQI+ songwriters, producers and artists.
