Brisbane jazzfunkers Kerbside Collection (Bris/QLD) touring their latest and 3rd record timely named ‘Smoke Signals’ for a night of raw instrumental jazz funk, soul & gritty rare grooves alongside guests.

Kerbside’s sound harks back to the 60’s and 70’s Californian West Coast jazz funk music of artists such as Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Joe Sample and The Crusaders, whilst tipping its hat to today’s contemporaries keeping the ‘feel’ alive (Soulive, Eddie Roberts & the New Mastersounds, Cookin on 3 Burners, Mattson 2, Frootful, Menahan Street Band etc). 3 albums deep, with their recent record ‘Smoke Signals’ containing flourishes of early 70s analogue / electric jazz movements including version’s of classics from Cedar Walton and Bob James, alongside their funky and jazzy originals that have recently been remixed by artists such as Grant Phabao (Paris DJs), Chikashi Nishiwaki (Japan), Horatio Luna (Melb), and featured on a fresh funk 45 7” single on Russian funky b-boy label Spasibo Records. 

Supported by local Melbourne funky, wonky, soul rhythm section legends Karate Boogaloo (Cactus Channel rhythm section) fresh from their recent mixtape series albums. With PBS DJ Mike Guerrieri (Mystic Brew), DJs Fairbanks & Jethro (College of Knowledge Records) and DJ Paprika and more TBA.
