MILLAR JUKES BIO:

He might have grown up in Scotland and live in Australia, but it’s a distinctly soulful, bluesy voice that comes out of singer-songwriter Millar Jukes. The Melbourne-based artist has just released his debut self-titled album – and it’s an infectious collection of groove-laden tracks, designed to make you get up and dance.

Whilst acknowledging the Americana stylings, performing on stages including the Northcote Social Club and Oxford Art Factory and supporting the likes of Ruby Boots, Stonefield and Sal Kimber. Now he’s found a sharper suit that fits, completed by his 7 piece soul band The Muscle has built upon his own unique blend of soul, indie rock and roots since 2018 - and the result is electrifying!

On his debut self-titled album, released July 9th, 2021, Millar found his direction and fallen in love with music all over again. Collaborating with producers Lachlan Bryan and Damian Cafarella, the album is a swirling, soul-rock journey into Millar Jukes' core, tied together by rollocking drumming, brooding guitars and a stirring horn section. With pre-album releases 'Fangs', 'Fire' and 'Home' have amassed 180k+ Spotify Streams.

Drawing comparisons to the likes of The Growlers, Nathaniel Rateliff and Paolo Nutini, it’s Jukes’ distinct, bluesy voice that truly sets him apart. With a number of spellbinding headline shows around Melbourne, Millar Jukes and The Muscle are a live force not to be missed.
