Jazz Queens 

Come and enjoy this series of three concerts curated by Bridgette Allen. Presenting WA’s fabulous jazz divas acclaimed and resplendent in their poise, virtuosity, and musical truth. These Women of Jazz, have helped forge, the sound of Australia’s jazz scene today.

This three night pass grants the ticket holder entry to each 'Jazz Queens' performance, details below.

Thursday 14 July: Featuring Victoria Newton & Bridgette Allen

Victoria Newton is internationally acclaimed in a variety of musical settings that span blues, jazz, and world music. 'A jazz singer a cut above the crowd' – John Fordham, The Guardian, UK. Bridgette Allen is regarded as a highly experienced performing artist, educator and adjudicator with a unique voice in Australian Jazz, interpreting classic jazz standards with a soul and drive only she can deliver.

Thursday 21 July: Featuring Jenny Wrenn, Sue Bluck & Kerry Byrom–Carter as Birdland 

Birdland is unique, as three individual voices combine a vocal blend that can execute complex Jazz Harmonies with a sound that sets them apart from their contemporaries.

Thursday 4 August: Featuring Renee Taylor & Ali Bodycoat

This special performance features the Duke’s very own Artistic Director and Owner, Renee Taylor. Renee is WAPPA trained and has led a colourful career across many stages, selling out her last three performances at the Duke with Body & Soul: The Music and Moods of Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse. Ali Bodycoat has a vocal performance history that is deeply rooted in the West Australian jazz and music scene and has performed regularly at the Perth International Jazz Festival since inception, Perth Festival, Fringe Festival, with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, and other festivals throughout the State. 


Each show is accompanied by Perth’s finest musicians, The Mike Nelson Quartet;
