George Washingmachine is an Australian jazz violinist, vocalist, actor, and visual artist celebrated for his high‑energy performances and charismatic stage presence. Based in Sydney, he leads his own ensembles—most notably the swing‑driven George Washingmachine Quartet, featuring skilled collaborators on guitar and double bass. His musical range spans toe‑tapping gypsy jazz and soulful blues, and he also showcases talents on guitar and double bass. Internationally acclaimed, he’s toured Europe, Cuba, New Zealand, and the US, appearing at major festivals including Havana Jazz and Sydney’s renowned venues . His discography includes nine albums across swing, string ensemble, and blues styles—such as 'Sweet Atmosphere', 'Room 301 Sessions', and 'Blue Rinse'. George also collaborates with classical jazz figures—like Simon Tedeschi, performing Gershwin and Cole Porter standards—and works regularly in theatre and television. Whether fronting a quartet, leading a larger ensemble, or mentoring others, George Washingmachine brings virtuosity, humour, and artful showmanship to every performance.
