Jack Howard’s mighty Epic Brass show finally returns to The Espy’s Gershwin Room on Friday May 20th.This ripper show is a celebration and an exploration of the great horn hits and hidden gems of Australian rock - from Hunters and Collectors and the Oils to The Saints, Laughing Clowns and Painters And Dockers, the show features an incredible set list of killer brass tunes. The band’s last Gershwin Room show in March 2021 practically raised the roof.

Jack is joined on stage by a cavalcade of guest singers and a deluxe all-star band. Paulie Stewart (Painters And Dockers), Steve Lucas from X, Penny Ikinger (Wet Taxis), Helen Cattanach (Moler) and livewire Fiona Lee Maynard bring their style and their energy to this uniquely powerful show; and one of Australia’s finest singers,Rob Snarski from The Blackeyed Susans, will be making his Epic Brass debut. This is going to be huge.

Jack plays trumpet with Hunters and Collectors and wrote and arranged most of the band’s iconic horn lines. Along the way, he’s also played with The Violent Femmes, Rodriguez, You Am I, The Living End and a host of others. Throughout 2017, Jack toured the world with Midnight Oil as their trumpeter/keyboard player/percussionist. He has also released his musical memoirs, Small Moments Of Glory; and his new solo album, Lightheavyweight 2 will be out in June. Check it out at jackhoward.bandcamp.com.
