Hollick Hootenanny
Brunswick Ballroom
Starring: Freya Josephine Hollick, Cahill Kelly, Imperial Leather & Alex Hamilton
plus DJ Annaliese Redlich
Cosmic country queen Freya Josephine Hollick announces her Hollick Hootenanny, the first in a series of inspired alternative music events to be held at the happening Brunswick Ballroom starting this June 23rd.
This lovingly curated series will celebrate and give platform to a unique collection of Melbourne musical artists all selected via a common cosmic thread of authenticity, irrespective of musical diversion. Where country inspired music rubs shoulders with a varied list of local stars from all walks focusing on high times and one-off catalytic musical experiences.
Along with Freya Josephine Hollick and her thoroughbred Australian wrecking crew, the first edition of the Hollick Hootenanny will spotlight vaunted local singer-songwriter Alex Hamilton, punk spaghetti noir purveyors Imperial Leather and the altogether luminous Cahill Kelly and his full band to commune with the spirit in the sky and create solid musical community vibration.
Expect stunning featured band and solo sets, surprise guest turns and an inclusive invitation to collaborate on the creation of spontaneous musical reactions unique to each event.
As Freya says, “The hoot is on, we are calling our UFO home, Heartworn Highways meets X-files style”
Party proof guest DJ’s will feature during the Hollick Hootenanny series spinning weird and wonderful wax throughout, then dance floor stackers through to close.
