The Hoopla Sessions

A FolkWorld event

Fairbridge Festival presents the Hoopla Sessions at Freo.Social – a series of three monthly Sunday Sessions on 26 June, 31 July, 28 August from 5-9pm.

Whilst FolkWorld couldn’t bring you the full festival this year, they can bring you a magical slice of it! Revel in new and upcoming bands, in refined and beautiful songcraft, and dance to the energetic vibes of world, funk, jazz and soul. They’ll even bring some of the iconic installations from the site, including the snazzy neon Hoopla sign.

Bring your friends and families to recollect, rejoice and remember what it is that we all love about Fairbridge Festival.

Session 1: Sunday 26 June

Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics

Reubenali (Lucky Oceans, Ben Vanderwal & Alistair Peel).

Anna Schneider

Session 2: Sunday 31 July

The Liquid Project

Grand Remedy

Claudie Joy & The Joy Boys

Session 3: Sunday 28 August

Trad Fest - Series Finale

Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse

The Brownley Gospel Singers

The always amazing Grammy Award-winning pedal steel maestro Lucky Oceans will be replacing Naomi Pigram at The Hoopla Session on Sunday. Unfortunately, Naomi is no longer able to perform. Lucky will be bringing his brand new project 'Reubenali' which features Australia’s first call drummer for jazz and beyond – Ben Vanderwal – and double bass phenom Alistair Peel. This trio finds the secret pathways between folk, jazz and everything in between. Expect a celebration that shows that musical barriers are figments of our imagination!

Tickets $30.30 + BF per session OR buy tickets to all 3 shows and save (total cost $78.50 + BF). More on the door if available.

We honour and acknowledge the Whadjuk Nyoongar people as Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and live. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and recognise that the land and sovereignty has never been ceded.
