Genre mashing, alt-rock acrobats, He Danced Ivy, have earned a cult reputation with their eclectic blend of hybrid rock genres driven manically forward by furious drumming, powerful vocals and a spine tingling, electric atmosphere.
 

The Brisbane via Coffs Harbour locals are hot off releasing their sophomore EP ‘Optimistic Cynic’, a furiously quirky six track exploration of the inner workings of the modern misfit. Focusing heavily on developing a unique approach to the record, the group threw conventional songwriting right out the window in favour of building tracks that directly represented their themes. The painful cycle of addiction is exposed through sprawled, harrowing breakdowns and black metal intensity only to bloom into gorgeous, post-rock motifs, contagious grooves and anthemic group choruses.
