‘...a true Australian music legend’ (Peter Noble, Bluesfest)

'...Wild At Heart is in essence the culmination of all that's come before, the perfectly ramshackle arrangements and instrumentation bringing a Southern noir vibe...' (Steve Bell, Rhythms)

Sensational album. Warmth and experience wrapped up in rootsy tenderness. An absolute high point of a storied career…’ (Bernie Howitt)

Glenn Cardier and the Sideshow, fresh from their performances at Bluesfest’s 30th Anniversary this year, invite you to the launch of Cardier’s Wild At Heart CD at LOW 302 Sydney.

There are aspects of Glenn Cardier’s story that could best be described as being the stuff of legend. He appeared at Sunbury, Australia’s first iconic rock festival some 45 years ago as well as performing in those early years with the likes of Frank Zappa, Harry Chapin, Cheech and Chong, John Hammond, Manfred Mann and Spike Milligan.

Wild At Heart features 10 new originals and a blazing version of Mickey Newbury’s Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In). Cardier recently was a First Place Winner of the 2016 International Song Competition (16,000 entrants, 146 countries). His resurrection as a songwriter and performer since 2000 has been nothing short of extraordinary.

'There's no-one else on the Australian music scene quite like Glenn Cardier; from the finely chiselled storylines, and the razor sharp observations to the off- kilter delivery of his cryptic vignettes, he is a genuine one-off, a maverick, and you wouldn't want it any other way.'

(Rhythms Magazine 2012)

Cardier’s long-standing band, The Sideshow provide a powerhouse backdrop underpinning the dark humour of Cardier’s lyrics.

The band features in-demand roots guitarist Jeremy Edwards, as well as crack session musicians Phil Grove (Keyboards), Mick Malouf (Bass) and Davo Fester (Drums).
