From the vibrant Melbourne pub circuit to the old Juke Joints of the American south, veteran blues/roots artist Geoff Achison has taken The Souldiggers around the world. To celebrate 25 years with the group Geoff Achison & The Souldiggers will be performing a retrospective show at The Spotted Mallard in Brunswick, fittingly on Saturday, May 25th

‘The Souldiggers’ moniker was born from a theme song Geoff had written for the project in the early 90’s.Traveling solo and hiring local players in each region, the concept allowed Geoff to take his music to just about any location on the map. After a decade and a half of touring, writing and recording, The Souldiggers now boasts line-ups across three continents with Australian, US & UK contingents.

At the Spotted Mallard May 25th the group will feature Roger McLachlan on bass, Richard Tankard on keys and drummer Andy Sylvio. Geoff is putting together a playlist of Souldiggin’ classics, allowing fans to help build the set-list, chosen from their vast repertoire, via social networking.
