Revel in great storytelling, unexpected voices and shared wisdom spanning the ages.

Six storytellers.

Six generations.

Generation Women® creates space for intergenerational connection and community.

Winner Best Spoken Word at Sydney Fringe 2019 and featured in All About Women 2020 at the Sydney Opera House, Generation Women celebrates and amplifies female and non-binary voices. At our monthly live shows, six performers of note present an original piece on a theme. Of those, one is in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+.

Theme: Reckless, Raunchy, Rowdy: Tales of letting loose

It’s time to loosen the belt buckle and let your hair down. This month, we invited our storytellers to tell us a tall tale about a time they were reckless or rowdy or raunchy … or all three. It could be a story from long ago or from last week. Expect to see their wild self, their fun self, their sexy self. Whatever they care to share, you won’t want to miss this superfine show, with all the bells and whistles.

Team 20s:  Ashley Apap. Fuelled by earnestness and gas, writer/comedian Ashley Apap can't help but let out her feelings (and farts). Catch her debut solo show Ouch! at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022 for an energetic, honest hour of standup, sketch comedy, storytelling and song.

Team 30s: Laura Rouhan is a raccentour, a lover of tall tales (especially telling them), a spinner of yarns and the bringer of laughs. A creative individual working in community services, Laura strives to make positive contributions to help build a world that looks more like the one she wants to live in.

Team 40s: Sarah Walton is a bit like Meg Ryan's character in Sleepless in Seattle - she's a dag, she sees the best in everyone, and she cries a lot! From Australia to Los Angeles her romantic comedy toned films, talks, and #RomComic stories are known for their happy endings. (Rom com style, not massage parlor style!)

Team 50s: Stella Glorie is a podcaster, writer and creator of the Thirty Books video podcast. Stella created her channel to support Australian writers and the Australian publishing industry. Whether it be fiction, non-fiction, romance, fantasy, sci-fi and speculative fiction, that thing called "commercial women’s fiction" or literature, if it's new Australian work she’ll be chatting about it.

Team 60s: Delia Allens. Retired from work, gainfully employed in discovering what else life has to offer.

Team 80s: Lorna Hannan, a North Melbourne resident, was born into a storytelling family eighty-six years ago. She grew up in country Victoria, became an English teacher and was drawn inexorably into community story telling, Feminism, four daughters, their father, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren shape her life and its stories.
