GAILLE and His Four-Piece Band

After playing a sold out show at Fremantle's Kidogo arthouse and having just returned from an epic year of touring the world with shows in France, Brazil, Ireland, Australia, Spain and England, Gallie returns to WA with his amazing four-piece band on 28 of February, to play East Fremantle's spectacular live music venue ‘The Duke Of George’.

Joining Gallie are Jen Anderson - Violin (Archie Roach, Weddings Parties Anything,) Colin Berwick - Piano (The Who, Big Country)and Tristan Courtney - Double Bass (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). Support is local musician and Gallie’s good mate from their days in Ireland, singer, songwriter and guitarist John Barrett.

If you haven't heard of Gallie until now you're in for a real musical awakening.... If you like artists like Ray Lamontagne , Tom Waits, John Martyn or Wilco, then it is time to embrace the musical talents of Gallie.

With his amazing debut album the Occoquan River, Gallie has a remarkable talent of imagery that can transport you from the bloody battlefields of the American Civil War to the soft comfort of your lovers bed within the length of one tune.

Gallie's shows are like no other, he has the capacity to reach a large audience on a one to one level and make a large room seem like a small venue, due to the warmth that he brings through his songs and story telling. The stories are sometimes comical, sometimes tragic but the delivery is always from the heart.

His songwriting speaks for itself with critics hailing his album 'The Occoquan River' in their top albums of the year. Gallie has been drawing large crowds to his gigs over the last year and has been a favourite at a number of festivals including MDBF (Caxias Brazil), Little World Festival (France), Altitude Festival (France), Queenscliff Music Festival, Portarlington Celtic Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival, St Albans Folk Festival, Nannup Music festival, Fairbridge Music festival, Nanga Music festival and Maleny Music Festival.

“An album that came out of no where and just blew me away! From start to finish each song tells its own story. Already one of my albums of 2018.” Jimmy Stafford, Highland Radio

“You can hear every mile traveled by Gallie on his adventurous journey to making The Occoquan River… it is a beautiful piece of work, that takes you on Gallie's literary journey and wraps you in the emotional truth of his music.” Fiachna O'Braonain, Hothouse Flowers and RTE Radio 1’s Late Date

“One of the outstanding releases this year....’The Occoquan River’ is brilliant.” Paul Gough, The Inside Sleeve, ABC Radio National.
