Future Classic presents Mount Kimbie, Kucka & Christopher Port
Doors Open: 6.00pm
Christopher Port: 6.40pm
Mount Kimbie: 8.30pm
Future Classic Presents: Mount Kimbie + Kucka + Christopher Port is an inaugural partnership between Twilight at Taronga and Future Classic, and will see English electronic duo Mount Kimbie take to the Twilight at Taronga stage for the first time, supported by Kucka and Christopher Port.
Mount Kimbie is Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, who are known for extending dubstep away from its typical sound. The duo use field recordings to make music and have collaborated with artists such as James Blake, King Krule and Micachu. Since their emergence Mount Kimbie have repeatedly confounded expectations, transforming themselves from bedroom-studio producers to creators of one of the most fully realised electronic album-length statements of recent years.
The duo have gradually migrated from playing in clubs to frequenting gig venues and festivals, and the addition of a drummer to their guitar, keys and percussion live setup makes the new Mount Kimbie feel considerably more like a band - in the traditional sense of the word.
Triple j Unearthed electronic artist Kucka, who hails from Perth and records in her bedroom studio, will support Mount Kimbie. Kucka was sampled by New York rapper A$AP Rocky in 2013 and went on to sing backing vocals on the tracks 'Long Live A$AP' and 'Fashion Killa' on his debut album which charted at #1 on the US Billboard charts.
Also supporting is Australian beatmaker Christopher Port, whose new single 'Baby It's Not My Will' has just been released.
