Pop-up ice rink!

Resist the urge to hibernate this winter and have a WILD time at Taronga Zoo’s new open-air, pop-up ice rink – Frozen Zoo!

Frozen Zoo will run from Saturday 26 June to Sunday 11 July, 2021.

Set against the backdrop of Taronga’s iconic heritage gates, Frozen Zoo is a great addition to any Zoo visit. Kicking off Saturday 26 June and running for the duration of the winter school holidays, this all-ages event is perfect for the entire family!

Plus, you'll be able to skate until late with the ice rink open until 8pm every night!

Frozen Zoo isn’t just for the kids! Did you know little penguins mate for life? Make your trip to Frozen Zoo the perfect date night with a difference. Embrace the cold of the rink, before rugging up off the ice and making the most of a mini winter wonderland with a pop up food stall and a hot chocolate in hand. 

Whether you’re looking to find your flippers or just wanting to perfect your waddle, Taronga’s Frozen Zoo is great fun for skaters of all ages and skills - and because Taronga is proudly not-for-profit, a spin around on the ice not only gives you the chance to learn about the challenges facing Little Penguins in the wild, but also support the Zoo’s vital conservation efforts.
