Sydney NOW presents FOR FOLK SAKE!
~ live original music ~
at The Petersham Bowling Club
ZANE BANKS
Anyone who has met Zane Banks can attest - he is one of a kind. Obsessed with the guitar from childhood, but not your typical guitar nut, he has built his mastery of his instrument into his life’s work, performing music spanning the spectrum of genres from jazz/blues, to bluegrass and classical.
His songs span the wide-world of ideas and influences encompassing everything from high art to roaring guitar solos, poetry and the American songbook, all in his search for truth and beauty.
Born and bred in Sydney’s Inner West but with a career that has taken him to stages across the globe, Zane Banks is a rare voice and one well worth your time and attention.

ONE TIME IN TEXAS
One Time In Texas croon your troubles away with smooth harmonies, front porch weepers and smokey mountain gems.
Mischa Vickas (vocals/banjo/guitar/harmonica) and Marie Le Brun (vocals/guitar) perform traditional and modern Americana as well as original music from six-feet above ground.
Mischa delivers melody with casual effortlessness, whilst Marie’s youthful tone and subtle delivery produce a close harmony blend enhanced by considered musical arrangements and clawhammer banjo.
One Time In Texas is an act that captures an audience in the present and takes them to moments past.

CAMERON JONES TRIO
Cameron Jones is a guitarist, composer, and festival director of OzManouche (Brisbane). With his Selmer-style guitar, he harnesses the vibrancy of authentic manouche jazz. He uses percussive guitar rhythms to complement bright, expressive melodies.
Jones studied manouche jazz abroad with French and Dutch masters including Fapy Lafertin, Paulus Schäfer, Romino Grundhotz, Nous’che Roesnberg, David Reinhardt (grandson of Django Reinhardt), Samy Daussat and Stephane Wremble.
He has toured and performed with European artists Robin Nolan (UK), Lollo Meier (Netherlands) and Irene Ypenberg (Netherlands).
In Australia, Jones is a member of Spyglass Gypsies and Gadjo Guitars and has performed with Daniel Weltlinger, Ian Date and Ewan McKenzie.
Jones’ debut album, The Waterfall Way, is inspired by a street in Bellingen, New South Wales. Jones’ next album is due for release early-2023.
‘Cameron can really swing and is masterfully representing Django’s music down under.’ - Robin Nolan | World-renowned gypsy jazz guitarist

Run by local volunteers who keep the veggie patch colourful and cold glasses overflowing, the heart and soul of Petersham is at 77 Brighton St and has an interesting story.
