Five Island Drive ‘White Rose’ EP Launch | CANCELLED
Sydney's Five Island Drive are hitting the stage for the first time after a stream of successful releases saw them gain official Spotify playlisting, triple j airplay, Triple M, MTV and idobi radio rotation, plus many more huge achievements in the three-piece's impactful first few months on the scene.
A heavywave trio consisting of trans vocalist Frankie Jean, German multi-instrumentalist Kim Quint, and drummer Bradley Michael De Leon, if Denzel Curry met with Rammstein to write a Sega soundtrack, Five Island Drive might be the sonic afterbirth.
FID's 'White Rose' EP (releasing Friday, July 15th on all platforms) makes a huge stance on the meaning behind allyship set to a defiantly heavy and melodic backdrop. But don't just take our word for it, here are some words from around the scene:
"The Record sounds every bit like a major hit in waiting." - Maniacs
"Quick and punchy without losing any of the chaotic impact. What an unreal introduction!" - Abby Butler, Triple J
"This genre-fluid track is powerful & unique. There are so many different elements to this song & it's a journey that leaves you wanting more." - Lili Jean Barry, Kill Your Stereo
"I have actually wanted to know how to start a riot recently, thank you. this new one burns hot and heavy." - Imogen Hanrahan, triple j
"... a track that has a really cool sound to it, and I think they can really go somewhere" - Josh Merriel, triple j short.fast.loud
A wavy genesis launched in Mega Drive fever dreams, expect colourful, trance-flavoured mosh when turning on Five Island Drive.
