Eastside Arts Presents A night of local acoustic talent featuring Letterbox Musicians Leeroy Lee, Peter Miller Robinson, Dennis Aubrey, Vic Farrell and JJ the magician

LETTERBOX MUSIC showcases songwriters who have proven themselves as performers around Sydney as well as mastered the craft of writing songs. Letterbox Music artists write about the contemporary experiences of people living in the cities and suburbs of Australia. Leeroy Lee, slide-guitarist and stomp-box singer songwriter, recently won the Triple J Unearthed competition to tour with Missy Higgins in May 2007. Leeroy’s sweet voice and mellow songs are charming and thought- provoking. Peter Miller-Robinson is a perennial favourite of the Letterbox Music showcases. Pete blends jazz with blues and folk to create his own style. His songs are broad in their range, from melancholy songs about his family to cutting satirical comment on politics and society. Dennis Aubrey has been doing gigs around Australia for the past 30 years and practically everyone in the music industry has met him, played at one of his songwriter nights or been inspired by him to play guitar or write songs. It’s extraordinary how far-reaching Dennis’ influence has been throughout the country. Dennis writes witty songs with sharp lyrics. He’s a consummate performer and crowd pleaser. Finally, Vic Farrell is a female pop-folk singer songwriter who has played at folk festivals all over the country, settled in Sydney about 6 years ago and found herself in the pub pop/rock scene. With a passion for songwriting and songwriters she manages Letterbox Music, the gigs as well as other compilation CD projects to promote the local Sydney music scene. She’s a story teller, a songster and a multi-instrumentalist and plays in a broad range of styles. JJ (Jonathon Jarman) is a 17 year old magician. He’ll be entertaining the audience during band breaks and has to be seen to be believed! ********************************************* EASTSIDE ARTS – 395 OXFORD STREET - PADDINGTON Stone Gallery on oxford is located in ‘the church’ and has concert seating.
