Trumpet player Nadje Noordhuis and vocalist Michelle Nicolle are jazz artists at the height of their powers. Both possess talent that stretch the expectations of their respective instruments. Together the pair harness an emotive sense of melody, evoking vast emotional geography and melodies that chart the mysteries of the human interior.
Musical collaborators and friends for over twenty years, the two musicians come together again to produced this new quartet for SIMA, performing alongside longtime collaborators, rhythm section members Jonathan Zwartz and Ronny Ferella, specially selected for their ability to translate their bandleader’s expansive vision.
This quartet will explore standards and original repertoire allowing the trumpet and voice space to roam, discover and soar.

Songstress Virna Sanzone joins forces with National Jazz Award-winning bassist and Thirsty Merc rocker Phil Stack for a passionate performance re-imagined jazz gems and soul standouts.
Virna is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most captivating singers - deeply soulful, with the ability to sail through the most intricate jazz melodies. Stack’s brilliance lies in his gift to traverse jazz and rock, establishing his reputation as a master of both genres. Expect an expressive and personal show from these two road-hardened performers.
