After the stellar success of the Love and Rage fundraiser in August, Deer Gaze returns with a vengeance for the first of an ongoing series of events for the LGBTQIA+ community and our mates at La La La's in Wollongong, Dharawal Country!

With yet another HUGE mixed lineup ahead! 

Featuring:

Twine (ADL/Tarndanya)
Combining shimmering violins with outbursts of feedback from an amp being pushed to its limits, Twine is a post punk band who almost defy genre labels. Influenced by the experimentation of 90’s bands like Unwound, Slint and The Dirty three; while also incorporating an approach to honest song writing reminiscent of alt country staples like Jason Molina and David Berman, the band have already made an impact during their short period of existence. The five piece band each bring their own perspective and experience to the music and song writing. The recent introduction of a violinist into the band, creates the perfect contrast to the noise the band is known for.

OIL! (ADL/Tarndanya)

OIL! is a creative collective based around ideas of improvisation and experimentation with audio and visuals.

The band’s name and sound takes influence from German experimental band NEU!, and the band is also likened to OhSees, CAN, Endless Boogie, and more. Featuring Stuart Patterson on saxophone, Ricky Albeck on guitar, Colby Robertson on synthesisers, Maisie Gilchrist on theremin, Jesse Davidson on bass, Harry Freeman & Sam Kolesnik on double drums as the groups mainstays, the live show also often features special guest performers. Their energetic live show is not to be missed.

Misso
Born in a shed under the light of the moon, Misso are a 3 piece from the gong. Basically Charlie's angels if they were in a rock band from the Illawarra.

Rina Evangeline (DJ)

Rina Evangeline is an emerging trans non-binary radio presenter and DJ living and working on Wangal land. Drawing from her earnest curiosity in the history of techno and rave - their sets are crafted to lead you through a colourful journey of old and new high-energy sounds. They can occasionally be heard on FBi Radio, and kept spirits high through recent lockdowns with Heel Turn - her collaborative online stream series via Fake sounds alongside Dingo Jones. Come ready for thumping kicks, big breaks and euphoric euphonies to keep you moving all night.
