Dancing Therapy: Kiwi Connection
We’re making the most of the Kiwi Connection this time around at the Bonestead, inviting a handful of the stunning talent emerging from across the water to show us their knees in Melbourne’s most exposed booth.
Vanessa Worm [DJ Set](HEAD RUSH/Optimo Music , NZ)
Following an absolutely ripper release on Optimo’s Digital Danceforce earlier this year, Vanessa has been bootscooting all over town igniting dancefloors with her dank selection of beeps and bloops. When she’s not making people all sweaty she copilots one of New Zealand’s most promising new labels, Head Rush Enterprise, alongside fellow lord Eden Burns. The rest of 2019 is shaping up to be particularly large for Vanessa, as she graces a number of extremely coveted stages, including the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre and Animals Dancing’s famous NYD throwdown.
Nice Girl (Houses in Motion Recordings/Public Possession, NZ)
Don’t let the name fool you, while Ruby is undoubtedly a Nice Girl she is also one of the meanest deejay/producers to arrive on the scene in recent memory. Her recent release on local staple Houses in Motion exhibits the sharpness of her diverse tastes, ranging from corrosive synth workouts and banging electro beats to blissed out downtempo balearic stylings. She’s also popped up on Public Possession’s recent Chill Pill compilation alongside other prime local exports Tornado Wallace, Andras and Sui Zhen. With so many feathers already in her cap, we’re excited to witness Nice Girl in action this time around.
DJ Chrysalis (HEAD RUSH, NZ)
Withdrawing earlier in the year to toil away on his first release, DJ Chrysalis has emerged more beautiful than ever with the wonderful and wonky Body Admin EP on Head Rush Ent. featuring precise production and the dirtiest drop in pop-country music history. Chris divides his time between putting PAs to work, wearing the most charming smile you’ve ever seen and gracing the airwaves as the host of Touching Radio on KISS FM. An extremely talented deejay and a literal life saver, we’re over the moon to have him in the booth with us for a good old fashioned hoedown.
Curtis was on a record too.
