BRUNSWICK ARTISTS' BAR // FREE ENTRY // SHOW 8PM

A collision point between surf, punk and lyrical candour, CRUMBE is a Melbourne-based four-piece with a well-loved sound and a whole lot of heart. Lead-singer, guitarist and songwriter Connie Ogan started playing music in Los Angeles in the 1970s. Her sound dances on the fringes of Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young with a raw B52s style groove and a healthy dose of the post-punk grit that has characterised Melbourne’s live scene for the past decade. Together with bassist Kurt Mottershead, Scotty Bairdle on drums and Owen Eales on lead guitar they bring her loved washed tunes to life.

The Phosphenes create imperfect three-minute pop songs from a standard dysfunctional rock line-up (with added harmonica for your convenience) that - replete with catchy hooks and upbeat rhythms, armed with poignant and quirky humour, and dripping in vocal harmonies – stick in your head and rewire your brain.
