Inter-dimensional cyber-soul 3-piece Cool Explosions celebrate the release of their eagerly anticipated, debut self-titled ‘mini-album’. The band launch the strictly limited 12” vinyl format of the release at the Toff In Town on Saturday 30 March.  

Spectral, rebellious and hypnotic, Cool Explosions are at turns visitational and visceral. Behind drapes of synth-pop & glitch-laden resampling, a plunging virtual soul flashes at the heart of the release, while a lurid, preening Electro panther-pads the record’s floor.  Cool Explosions’ performance on the night will be enhanced with a hard-synced visual & light show.

Assuming formation amidst a veritable phalanx of analog synths, Cool Explosions brandish a sound that owes as much to proto-techno pioneers Klaus Schulz and Georgio Moroder as it does to Melbourne’s current future/digi-soul renaissance.  Assimilating elements of soul, improvised electronica, jazz, hip hop and RnB, the synergy evident when the trio perform together on stage is palpable, and electrifying.
