#CONCERTFORBLAKE
2 & 1/2 year old Adelaide boy, Blake Fechlie has a 1 in a million medical condition known as Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC). This renders Blake with half and on occasion, full body paralysis that can last for weeks.Blake is the only known child with this condition in South Australia and care for Blake is limited in Australia. Blake and his family must travel to North Carolina to meet with experts at a specialised clinic for AHC where a care plan for Blake will be established to ensure he has the best quality of life as he moves forward. Travelling to the US, will provide learning opportunities for Adelaide specialists in this field as they liaise with the team in America. enabling them to take over Blake’s care in the future. This trip stands to not only support Blake, but to enhance medical knowledge in Australia and serve to support any future children who are diagnosed with AHC.
