Concert FM presents Mark Lockett
Mark Lockett is a uniquely talented performer, composer and educator who has played with some of the finest jazz musicians on the Australasian scene today. He has recorded and toured extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore with his own trio, quartet and quintet ensembles and performed alongside Julien Wilson, Dave Rex, Paul Van Ross, Mark Fitzgibbon, Philip Rex, Alex Boneham, Mark Elton, Michelle Nicole (Australian Jazz Vocalist of the Year 2001, 2003 and 2004), Alison Wedding (2004 Bell Award winner), Tim Hopkins (1993 Australian Jazz Award winner), Roger Manins (2002 Australian Jazz award winner), Joe Chindamo and Jamie Oehlers (2003 Montreux Jazz festival saxophone competition winner) to name a few. Mark’s latest release Sneaking Out After Midnight (2012, Rattle Records) includes a suite of original tunes. Recorded at Acoustic Recording in Brooklyn NY and features NY heavy weights Joel Frahm (Saxophone) and Orlando Le Fleming (Bass).
