Grapes of Mirth
Comedy and Wine in McLaren Vale
Grapes of Mirth returns to its spiritual home in McLaren Vale on March 3rd - combining our three favourite things; comedy, wine & people.
Six of Australia's best comedians, and of course your host, Merrick Watts.
Our host venue is one of The Vale's finest, CORIOLE!
On Sunday 3rd of March, get ready for 7 hours of comedy, music, wine, gourmet grub and good times.
If you thought Mez was a little nuts, try this guy on for size! The return of a great South Australian to home soil after stints in the U.S and the U.K. It's gonna get weird - good weird, but weird. Mez says of Sam "He's truly one of my favourites - you can never unsee a Sam Simmons performance".
Fast becoming a GoM specialist, Nikki will make her McLaren Vale debut. Fresh off the back of her role in Peter Helliar's Channel 10 comedy "How to Stay Married", Nikki is back on stage. Anyone who has seen her perform live knows she's a force to be reckoned with!
After many, many requests and much speculation, we can now confirm, with pleasure, that Tom Gleeson WILL be returning to the Vale for 2019! Tom has dominated at all his Grapes of Mirth appearances and is no stranger to the Vale after utterly crushing it last year. Back with all new material but the same acerbic attitude, the host of "Hard Quiz" and regular on "The Weekly" is back to take on Coriole HARD!!!
We are absolutely rapt to be announcing that Cal Wilson will be hanging on to the Grapes of Mirth wine wagon for one more stop in McLaren Vale. Cal absolutely crushed in Coonawarra in January and now the fans at Coriole are going to see this firestorm comedian first hand.
In 2012 Ivan migrated from Venezuela to Australia and took up the challenge of performing comedy in a second language (English, not Radelaidian). Since then he has performed all over the world and you may have seen him recently on "Have You Been Paying Attention?" where he fit in like a snag in bread (no onions, too slippery!) We're rapt to have Ivan make is GoM debut with us in the 'Vale.
We're really excited to be introducing Sam, a Grapes of Mirth newbie to the line up for Coriole. Sam is an impressive young comic beginning to make real impressions in the comedy world. Mez has worked with Sam and rates him highly. It's always a delight for GoM to showcase these up and coming jets who go on to become future household names. Enjoy him now before he's too famous and doesn't want anything to do with us!
Grapes of Mirth provides the ultimate chill-out day with six headline comedy sets, a host with the most, and some sweet DJ tunes (brought to you by the one and only, DJ Pedro!) to keep you entertained before, between, and after the comedy has ended. Only the best Coriole wines, locally produced beer and cider, and plenty of gourmet grub on offer.
Return buses available for $25 + booking fee from Adelaide CBD and Glenelg.
This is an 18+ event, because there are comedians involved, and well, because there are comedians involved.
Strictly NO BYO food or beverage.
