With Luna Wolf Music, Trio of Misfortune

Following the release of their singles Mr. Boiler and The Beginning this year, emerging Indie-folk duo Cee Dee Stone (Candy Cunningham/Andrew Deasey) are set to launch their highly anticipated album, Ugly Skin, at Waywards Bar this September.

As per Michael Smith (Rhythms Magazine) - "With a voice as powerfully emotive and clear as she has, underpinned by beautifully honed songwriting skills, matched by his subtly inventive guitar playing, Cunningham and Deasey could quite easily have released the original unembellished acoustic tapes as a more than impressive debut album of heady lyricism. Their decision to then call in a tasteful rhythm section in double bassist Steve Elphick and Drummer Bruce Stephens guaranteed it was lifted another notch, as on 'Naked Afraid' with its mesmerising weave of harmonies and counter-melodies. The masterstroke was the addition of multi-instrumentalist Marcus Holden, layering mandolin, dobro, octave viola and fiddle, not on every song, but on enough to make these songs stunning, particularly on the opening track 'The Beginning'. The songs are by turns triumphant, dreamy, defiant and evocative, exploring the nooks and crannies of the feelings we all navigate in trying to connect with the ones we love. Cunningham is a truly remarkable talent and with Ugly Skin she's definitely arrived".

Cee Dee Stone will be joined by special guests "trio of misfortune" - an 8 piece progressive funk rock band with a healthy dose of satirical, thought-provoking lyricism - and the sultry sounds of Blue Mountains based multi-instrumentalist & songstress "Luna Wolf."

The night is sure to please folks of all musical strokes, offering a diverse soundscape and musical journey across genres.
