Carla B & the Magpies - indie-folk band of five with a collective desire to throw back to simpler times and create unforgettable melodies and catchy rhythms. They pair their jangled pop-folk sound with lyrics inspired by hidden feelings and fleeting moments. 

The band came together after solo artist Carla B released her debut EP ‘First Life’. Known for their energetic live performances, they have been playing shows around Sydney for the past two years. 

Singing songs about life, love and everything in between, the band’s songwriter and lead singer Carla B never shies away from hard truths. Her confessional lyrics are complemented by the unique sound of the band.

The band released their debut single ‘It Will Be Better’ in April and have been featured on Bondi Radio, Triple H, 7MID, Livewire AU, Australian Music Scene and Women In Music. They have performed at iconic Sydney venues such as LazyBones, Mr Falcons, Bar 34, the Corridor and the Gasoline Pony. 

Carla B & the Magpies is an outlet for expression, with the intention to not only create good music, but to have a great time with friends. 

Alana-Lee Lurking on the edge of sweetness and sass, singer-songwriter Alana-Lee is no wholesome wallflower. A strict religious childhood in Fiji followed by dangerous teen rebellion and adult adventuring have allowed the now balanced Sydneysider a unique perspective of the light and dark side of life. She stirs this into her songs as an invitation to see the world through a bigger lens.

Alana-Lee’s alluring and bewitching production sounds add another dimension to the traditional female piano singer-songwriter as her latest singles Weeds (Jun 2021), Escape Act (Dec 2021) and Black Chemistry (Oct 2020) defy through their moody percussive rhythms, meandering hooky melodies and enticing vocals.

Her music has been added to playlists in Australia, USA, Germany, France and the UK, and is supported by community radio in Australia; 4ZZZ, Double J, Edge Radio, Radio Adelaide and Fine Music Sydney.

Her debut EP, Freedom In The Fall, was released in November 2016 with songs Walking For Water, Russian Doll and Freedom In The Fall.
