About the Festival

Through a diverse calendar packed with exciting events & experiences including dining under the stars, music, yoga boats, comedy, storytelling, rodeo and more, to the local characters & flavour that make Kununurra and the East Kimberley one of the most iconic destinations in the world, the Festival is a magical experience for all.

From its humble beginnings in 2001 as a quiet, one-night gathering, a simple outback dinner for local businesses, the Ord Valley Muster has grown rapidly to become a cornerstone event in the national festival calendar. Now a three-time Hall of Fame inductee (2017, 2011, 2008) at the WA Tourism Awards, the Muster continues to gain recognition, winning Silver at the 2023 Australian Tourism Awards for the first time.
