Frontier Touring is proud to announce it will be bringing one of Japan’s most impressive musical exports, Bo Ningen, to Australia for shows in Brisbane and Sydney, alongside their already scheduled appearance at Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain festival. The band will play at The Zoo in Brisbane on January 21 and Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on January 23.

Renowned for their incendiary and intense style of acid-punk, the now London-based collective released their third album III earlier in the year, which is out now through Stolen Records via [PIAS]. The band have affiliations with fellow London post-punkers Savages, with whom they have just released their collaborative record Words For The Blind to critical acclaim on November 17. Savages' Jehnny Beth also lends her vocals on the III album track 'CC', but it's Bo Ningen's musical ferocity that has earned them chops from the likes of tastemakers such as Pitchfork, The New York Times, NME and Noisey.

'The songs on III encompass majestic processionals, droney space rock, whipshaw distorted funk and songs in which you have to simply hang on for the ride.' - The New York Times

'Almost unprecedented in its fearless fusion of 40 years of guitar noise...filters 1970's metal excess through a hardcore punk mesh...an exhilarating album.' - Sunday Times

'Without boundaries but with form, experimental and noisy but always totally listenable, III is one hell of a record. Psychedelic, maybe. Fantastic, most definitely.' - Music OMH

'While III is certainly weird, it's also rather wonderful.' - Record Collector

With an aesthetic that's as noteworthy as their discography, Bo Ningen's live offering is one not to be missed. With audiences all over the world turning up to see the

androgynous, visceral and progressive nature of their shows, Australian east-coast audiences will have a chance to witness their face-melting set live. The weird and wonderful world of Bo Ningen in the flesh has been caught by Noisey, who collaborated with the band on an exclusive live video of their track 'Henkan'.

'If Primal Scream had twice the pedal board and quadruple the swinging black haircuts, it might have approximated the blowtorched hallucinogenic punk that Bo Ningen riled up.' - LA Times (Coachella review)

'They're fantastically energetic; often brain-crushingly heavy, and quite probably the most exciting young band in London right now.' - MOJO

'Bo Ningen is out there - way out there, and you'd be a fool not to join them.' - The Quietus

'You are dragged into Bo Ningen's world, a place where the fusion of rhythm fighting against musical aggression has never sounded so thrilling.' - The Line Of Best Fit

'Bo Ningen have become more approachable without losing the ferocity and anything-goes attitude that made them so exciting in the first place.' - NME

'Their ability to wring multiple surprising moments out of one monster riff is one of the things that make Bo Ningen so thrilling.' - The Guardian
