Stewart melds the story-telling of country, the heartbreak of blues and the brutality of rock to produce a unique sound described by reviewers as a “superb female rejoinder to Ryan Adam's Heartbreaker”.

Bek-Jean Stewart has been wooing audiences with her moody melodies since the early 1990s. Her
writing, recording and performing career began with the Indie pop group, Eva Trout which reached
critical acclaim in the US with her hit song Beautiful South.
Her solo career, since 2007, has seen her produce and tour five albums that showcase her depth and
range of musical ability. Her fifth album, Songs from the North, was released in 2019 to critical acclaim
and her sixth album Fierce Attachments will be launched mid 2021. Fierce Attachments is an album of
women’s stories, bringing to focus the uniquely feminine struggles around sexual power, the contest for
space in society and the battle to tear down social constructs. Stewart is a deeply personal storyteller
and her songs explore self-reflective themes which include grief and loss, addiction, death and the
unfettered challenges of the human condition.
Stewart brings the stage alive as a captivating front woman with a musical breadth that spans
composing, arranging and playing acoustic and electric guitar, drums, banjo, harmonica, keyboards
and percussion. Her band mates; Lawrence Pastro (drums) and Scot Aird (bass guitar) collaborate their
dexterity with an understated elegance that allows Stewart’s songs to shine.
Stewart melds the story-telling of country, the heartbreak of blues and the brutality of rock to produce a
unique sound described by reviewers as a “superb female rejoinder to Ryan Adam's Heartbreaker”.
Stewart’s grainy angelic voice contrasts with the sad, raw emotion of her lyrics jolting her storytelling to
life and taking audiences on a roller-coaster journey of discovery. Don’t miss an incredible night with this
band.
