Chugg Entertainment Presents
BAHAMAS With Special Guest Slow Dancer
Already announced as a special guest on Jack Johnson’s upcoming Australian tour, Canadian singer-songwriter BAHAMAS today reveals he will play three intimate headline shows in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne this December.
Bahamas, the stage name for Toronto's Afie Jurvenen, will take in Sydney's The Basement on Monday 4th December, before traversing the country to play at Perth's Mojo's Bar on Tuesday 5th December, returning to the East Coast for a final headline show at Melbourne's Northcote Social Club on Saturday 9th December.
'No Wrong' is the brand new single from Bahamas, lifted from the forthcoming fourth studio album Earthtones, due out in January next year.
Distinguishing himself as a member of Feist's touring band in his earliest musical days, Bahamas has since supported the likes of Jason Collett, Elvis Costello and City and Colour. He has played festivals around the world from Bonnaroo to Osheaga, Newport Folk Festival and more, and made a stunning 2015 debut at Toronto's iconic Massey Hall, which can be viewed here.
Known for his warm sound, smooth guitar lines and dynamic live show, Bahamas crafts "a sound that's hard to pin down - part smooth jams, part psychedelic rock, part adult contemporary, and part folksy campfire..." - Consequence of Sound
"Jurvenen crafts stripped-down, harmony-brushed songs with gorgeous hooks and without a wasted note." - The Guardian
"... (the) live performance packed more of a punch than what you would find on studio albums... If the energy at this show was any indicator, Bahamas' success is only just beginning." - The Cut Magazine
"... not even his humour can overshadow the star of the show - his effortless guitar skills... Bahamas is definitely worthy of headlining and worthy of our undying attention." - National Post
Melbourne singer-songwriter SLOW DANCER (Simon Okely) will join Bahamas as a special guest on all Australian dates. With new album In A Mood, released in June, Slow Dancer has created "a blanket of sound, each layer blending more smoothly, a sonic gradient of guitar, organ, strings, bass and vocals" - Noisey.
With Spotify streams for his tracks 'All The Time' and 'Lost In Light' reaching almost 70 million between them, BAHAMAS is as prolific as he is captivating in the live arena. Don't miss this unique opportunity to catch Bahamas up close and intimate on his Australian headline dates this December.
