AMIN PAYNE / SAFFRON SET
Come on a nostalgic journey of exotic Eastern sounds resonating with my early childhood in Iran and ever growing inspiration from neighbouring lands of Turkey, and the Arab Nations. Accompanied by Julian Steel on percussion & Felix Meredith on Trumpet, to complete this unique hybrid set.

TARABEAT x MzRizK (live)
Their performances are nostalgic and modernistic. Through the use of microtones, odd time signatures, Taqsims (improvisations) and pulsating percussion their sound celebrates the rich musical history and traditions from the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region.
Using classic instruments such as the Qanun (Arabic harp), Nay (Arabic flute), Tubbel (percussion), Mizmar, alongside the Abelton PUSH, and DJ'ing, their live performance celebrates, and re-invents Arabic standards, and classics.

FUTURE ROOTS X SAMAR
With his ongoing passion for Afro House , that has taken him back to his North African roots , with some iconic collaborations with Moroccan artists under the Digital Africa releases , with remixes from Jose Marquez , Temori and others .. this will be a deep dive into what is happening with contemporary electronic music from north Africa and beyond.
Accompanied by live percussionist
And special guest performance from Belly dancer Samar
Samar is an emerging dancer, designer and artist based in Melbourne. Her artistic and dance style initially emerged from her love of all the different cultures, music and dances in Yemen, the Middle East, and east Africa. But it was only through her life in Melbourne that she was able to create her own unique style that expresses both her past cultural identity and the beautiful cultural identity of Melbourne.

We acknowledge that this event will be held on Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
