MIRAGE A Daytime Hallucination

Ten tonnes of sand. A bobcat. A cement compound in the Inner West that had absolutely no business being what it became.

We painted the walls. Strung wisteria and lanterns overhead. Dropped a pool in the sand. Hung a 2.5 metre disco ball above all of it and pointed the best local DJs at the afternoon sun.

Someone walked in and said: "This is so underground."

It was one in the afternoon.
