Debuting in 2017, Agung Mango quickly established himself as one of the most exciting artists to bubble up from Australia’s underground rap scene. Gritty, brash and completely unbounded, Mango’s music pushes the sonic limits of what we’ve come to know locally, drawing on experimental rap, punk, jazz and alternative R&B.

On the mic, he channels the ferocious presence of artists Denzel Curry and the unapologetic, punk posturing of slowthai, but stands apart from his contemporaries, demonstrating an ability to move through flows, cadences and genres like no one else. Since first emerging under previous moniker Son of Agung, he has released a slew of standalone singles, including ‘TOUGHSKIN’ and 'RODENT,’ as well as a collaborative EP with local crew 3K.

These releases have seen Mango’s mainstream stature rise steadily, leading to appearances at Laneway Festival, Spilt Milk and Golden Plains. He has supported Wiki, Milan Ring, as well as a national tour supporting Genesis Owusu, and has been praised from triple J as their Unearthed Feature Artist.

His debut EP, set for release in 2022, will be followed by his first headline tour of Australia. The EP features guests Genesis Owusu and is by far the artist’s most refined work to date.
