On April 28th 2021, The Lansdowne will be hosting A Night For Jack.

The night, hosted by Jack’s family and friends, will be done to honour Jack’s life and also raise funds for the mental health organisation, Headspace.

A Night For Jack will begin with a tribute set performed by Matthew Sheppard, Aaron Johnson and Jake Tasker. The set will feature some of Jack’s favourite bands and songs, with pop punk and hardcore mixed throughout. It will also feature local bands Father Deer Hands and Junkhead.

Hailing from the suburbs of Sydney comes Father Deer Hands – An Australian Melodic/Punk Hardcore outfit of loud technical guitars, huge drums, percussive and sludgy bass lines and dynamic vocals. A band of friends that want to go against the grain of standard heavier roots in music with a love of all styles of music and a desire to express that in their own way.

JUNKHEAD’s story is as wild and unpredictable as their music, and their journey has barely begun. From the opening moments of their acclaimed 2016 debut EP WARMOUTH, the combination of frenzied, technical compositions, catchy and memorable songwriting and blistering, emotionally-charged vocals grabs the listener immediately and for the next twenty minutes, refuses to let go.

After winning the Triple J Unearthed competition to support UK Heavyweights Architects at their 2017 Sydney show, as well as making their live debut supporting Canadian prog-metal legends Protest the Hero in the first half of 2017, JunkHead have steadily made a name for themselves in the live music scene as a frenetic and entertaining live act, sharing stages with US metalcore titans The Plot in You and Australian local heroes Polaris.
