A Cockle Shell For Ship - Roving performance work by Kim Deacon

This multi-media installation and performance piece shines the light on some amazing women who made their homes and lives in Hill End, Tambaroora and Bathurst.

Using historic diaries, journals and historically -based fictional letters, Kim has composed music for harp, voice and piano, to poems by iconic Australian female poets who wrote of such women...Judith Wright, Mary Gilmore, Louisa Lawson and Glen Tomasetti. Using video, narration, soundscape and live music, Kim takes us into the worlds of these women.

The performance and stories start at The Presbyterian Church, move on to Bryants -The Butcher Shop, The Great Western Store and finish back at The Presbyterian Church for a Suffreagette meeting in full swing !

Meet outside the Presbyterian Church - 34 Tambaroora St, Hill End, 10 minutes before the performance start time at 12.50pm on Saturday and Sunday
