Event Details

This horn-filled show will make you move! Sydney party-starters 343 Brass Band celebrates one year since the release of their joyfully-received EP, ‘Leave Your Mark’, with the help of 10-piece groove machine, Lyre Byrdland, on 30 June 2022 at The Vanguard.

Expect bright, brassy original jazz and pop composed by bandleader Heather Prowse, made memorable by the band's signature fun-loving energy and tight arrangements. As well as their original music, 343 Brass Band's exhilarating live shows also include horn-heavy pop and RnB covers and traditional New Orleans-style jazz and gospel arrangements that are guaranteed to get you grooving!

343 Brass Band are known for their appearances at Secret Garden Festival, Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, ABC TV and across the inner west’s finest music venues. Members of 343 Brass Band are all popular session musicians in their own right, performing as associate artists with Lime Cordiale, Hot Potato Band, Jackie Brown Jr, Hayes Theatre Co. and the Danish Radio Big Band.

Afro-Funk, Reggae-Dub and Rock'n'Soul luminaries, Lyre Byrdland, are a 10-piece instrumental, carbo-loaded groove machine. Real-life music bursting with blood, sweat and tears, reminiscent of dance halls all across our universe from 1969 to 2019.
