The Roxy Theatre

The Roxy Theatre

It was opened on 7 April 1930 purely for usage as a cinema. In 1933 a stage was added and it was officially opened by Australia's most famous and internationally celebrated singer of that time, Gladys Moncrief, known affectionately as ""Our Glad"". Since 1933 the Theatre has operated continuously providing both film and live entertainment to residents of Leeton and the surrounding area. The Roxy film screen is one of the largest roll-up mechanized screens in Australia measuring approximately 16 metres wide by 8 metres high.
