Canadian musician, songwriter and producer Devin Townsend is set to return down under this October to take part in a series of guitar clinics, offering up his skills and eccentricities in order to teach others how they can be almost as musically diverse as he is.
During the clinics in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, Townsend will be helping to inspire other artists and guitar fanatics, by teaching them many of the unique techniques and styles that he’s developed throughout his career.
Each clinic will also conclude with a Q&A session with Devin, giving fans the opportunity to ask all the tough musical (and non-musical) questions. Devin Townsend music and merchandise will also be available for purchase at each clinic.
Townsend’s Devin Townsend Project last toured Australia in October 2013. With 30 records now under his belt, and new double-album Z to be released during the week of 27th October, Townsend shows no sign of slowing up.
Speaking of Z, Townsend has said, “I really enjoy my job and I really want to continue being able to be creative. This project offers me an opportunity to present myself in ways that I haven’t before: as a writer, as an orchestrator, as somebody who’s able to provide soundtrack stuff, as a puppeteer, as a multimedia artist, dubious comedy, all these things.”
“I’m hoping that Z really provides an outlet for people to see that I’m capable of a lot of things, but even more so, I hope it will inspire other artists to reach for things that maybe seem a bit out of reach.”
