It’s not too often that Alabama born and bred rapper Yelawolf is in Australia, so he’s making the most of it – along with supporting Bliss N Eso, Yela has now announced two headlining shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Through a run of albums, mixtapes and EPs, Yelawolf has risen to the status of cult icon within the underground scene and, despite only being here once before, has garnered an intimidatingly large following Down Under. It was his Trunk Muzik release that grabbed the attention of the international hip hop community and backed by a run of well-established musicians including Travis Barker it was hard to ignore him.
The protege of Eminem recently released the Trunk Muzik Returns EP featuring a star-studded guestlist including A$AP Rocky, Raekwon and Killer Mike, with a sophomore album Love Story slated for release later this year that promises to be even bigger.
