Watch Vance Joy Literally Play Ukulele For Free Tacos

Vance Joy has – literally – had to sing for his supper.

In a move that could offer terrifying new insight in to just how little Aussie musicians actually get paid these days – or could, you know, just be Vance being a bit of a smartass – the Rip Tide tune-smithe has taken advantage of a Texan taco stand’s offer to provide free tacos in exchange for a song performed on the ukulele.

As The Music reports, Vance decided to patron Austin eathouse Tyson’s Tacos when he discovered their so-called “Ukulele Policy”.

As the policy states, only those worthy enough to unsheath the taco stand’s sacred uke from behind its glass chamber, tune it to perfection and then use it to pluck a merry tune will earn themselves the right to free tacos.

And that’s exactly what Vance did. Uke in hand, the troubadour strummed himself straight to taco town.

No word as to whether he performed more than one song, in accordance with Tyson’s specified 1:1 song-to-taco ratio.

But we do know that he at least performed his international mega-hit Rip Tide, because Tyson’s Tacos filmed the whole thing and uploaded it to their Facebook page.

Check it out below, and catch Vance touring Australia with Taylor Swift this November and December.

Vance Joy everybody! Who needs ACL?
