Watch: Snoop Lion’s Debut Music Video ‘La La La’

Snoop Lion has released his debut music video for his debut single La La La. The rapper turned reggae representative has put together a tripped out clip that looks like children’s programming until a reefer smoking pineapple suddenly floating across the screen.

The clip symbolizes the death of Snoop Dogg by placing the former rapper in a coffin whilst holding a dog. Once Snoop re-emerges from the coffin, he is reborn as Snoop Lion and can now take his rightful place as king of the jungle, while little kids dressed as wild animals dance around in celebration.

Of course this being Snoop, there’s a couple of sexy ladies getting about the place, and for some reason a robot. Snoop told MTV that the clip is made to represent the good vibration of the upbeat single that was produced by Major Lazer.

“A lot of kids, a lot of costumes, you know, lion in the jungle, just having a good time,” Snoop explained to MTV, “It’s one of those records that just celebrates fun, trick or treat in so many words.”

Snoop Lion’s debut reggae album Reincarnation is due to come out in February of next year. A documentary about Snoop’s transformation is expected before the LP to help fans understand the transition from rapping to reggae.

“If I just drop this music, it leaves room for questioning,” Snoop told Billboard, “You wouldn’t understand the whole journey or the transformation. When I allow you to see the movie, to go on the journey with me, to see exactly why I’m the Lion, why the music changed — [you'll] have a full understanding.”
