Watch Rob Zombie Cover Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’

Rob Zombie has graced an American audience with a cover of Metallica‘s 1991 heavy metal hit Enter Sandman, which appeared on the iconic rock band’s eponymous fifth album.

Last Tuesday night, 29th April, at a show at House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Zombie introduced the cover by saying, “Right about now people I’d like to vary from the usual shit if possible.”

He called on old-school metal heads, admitting, “I’m never sure about this but do we have any motherf***in oldschool metal motherf***in heads in the room?” After one false start and a cheeky “no one’s ever heard that last song” from Zombie, his faithful cover got into full swing. Check out the performance below, as well as the tried-and-tested original.

Rob Zombie released his fifth studio album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, in 2013 via Zodiac Swan Records. Mr. Zombie was in Australia only a few months ago for Soundwave 2014, and was kind enough to grace us with an interview where he espoused the virtues of playing solo shows over festivals.
