Watch Radiohead Play ‘The Bends’ And ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ For The First Time In Six Years

Radiohead continue to whip out the old favourites on this recent tour for A Moon Shaped Pool, this time dropping The Bends and Fake Plastic Trees from 1995’s The Bends.

It’s the first time the band have played the tracks in six years and they unveiled them over two nights in Mexico City. They turned out to be pretty special shows for those in attendance because the band returned to the stage at the end for an encore performance of Creep – a song that wasn’t on the band’s intended setlist.

Along with playing plenty of songs from A Moon Shaped Pool, Radiohead are digging into their back catalogue perhaps more than ever before. They played Creep for the first time in a decade earlier this year and also gave fans Hail To The Thief‘s 2 + 2 = 5 for the first time in seven years. They’ve also played No Surprises, My Iron Lung and True Love Waits for the first time since 2009 at various shows.

It seems every show gets a different surprise and no one’s really sure what golden oldie they’re going to pull out next.

Radiohead have only a handful of dates announced for the rest of the year with the band yet to announce anything for 2017. Let’s hope Australia’s on their radar and that they haven’t exhausted their back catalogue by then.
