Watch Lady Gaga & Metallica Play ‘Moth Into Flame’ With Actual Working Mics

Lady Gaga has shared Grammys rehearsal footage of her covering ‘Moth Into Flame’ with Metallica showing how the performance would’ve gone down if it weren’t for technical problems.

The unlikely collaboration was aired at this year’s Grammys but Metallica frontman James Hetfield’s mic wasn’t working, leaving only Gaga to sing for majority of the song.

Now Gaga’s shown fans footage of the performance from rehearsals titling it, “How It SHOULD Have Sounded.”

The pairing was probably one of the more unexpected performances of the night but as it turns out both acts have a mutual adoration for each other.

Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone that Gaga was the, “quintessential perfect fifth member of this band.”

“Her voice, her attitude, her outlook on everything is so awesome. [The performance] was so effortless and organic and she just has the spirit of hard rock and metal flowing through her veins. It comes really easy for her. There’s nothing contrived; she just has this super warm, easy energy.”

On Metallica, Gaga told Beats 1, “those guys play better than they’ve ever played in their whole lives.”

Check out the rehearsal footage below.
